To Saudi-Arabia: Entry into PDH-PP Business

SK gas has joined hands again with Saudi Arabia's APC, the JV partner which collaborated with SK gas for the SK Advanced PDH business in Ulsan. SK gas and APC agreed to set up a joint venture (JV) to build an 843,000-ton propylene (PDH) plant and an 800,000-ton polypropylene (PP) plant.

Over the next four years, capital will be invested through our subsidiary based in Singapore, SKGI, to SKGP (SK gas Petrochemical), a special purpose company (SPC) which will be created for investment purposes. After establishing a joint venture with AGIC (Advanced Global Investment Company), a subsidiary of APC in Saudi Arabia, SKGP will start construction in 2021 and commence production of propylene and polypropylene at the end of 2023.

Based on the synergy from combining the excellent manufacturing and marketing capabilities of APC with infrastructure such as optimal business sites and low-priced raw materials from the oil-rich country of Saudi Arabia

With the PDH-PP business in Saudi Arabia, SK gas has spearheaded its overseas expansion into the gas and chemical business. Taking advantage of the competitive petrochemical prices in Saudi Arabia, SK gas will continue to discover new business opportunities and expand as a global energy company.

To Belgium: Exporting PDH operations know-how

To Belgium: Exporting PDH operations know-how

SK gas is expanding its PDH business on a global scale, applying the utilized expertise to successfully build and operate a PDH plant unit in Ulsan. INEOS, a global chemical company, has also decided to build a PDH plant with an annual capacity of 750,000 tons in the Antwerp petrochemical complex in Belgium, and has requested SK gas to share the know-how in PDH operations. Therefore, we will contribute to the success of this project by transferring, under a separate contract, our PDH plant know-how to INEOS, beginning with the basic stage of designing the PDH plant and up to the stage of commercial operation.
