01. General Provisions

• Personal information is the information of a living person that can identify the individual with the name, resident registration number, etc. (including the information which itself does not identify the person but may be combined with other information to identify the person)
• SK Gas values customers’ privacy the most and complies with regulation on privacy under the provisions of the ‘Act on Promotion of Information and Communication Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc.’ and ‘Personal Information Protection Guideline’ enacted by the Ministry of Information and Communications. You will find SK Gas’ personal information protection policy describing why we collect your personal information and how we use it as well as what we do to protect the personal information.
• SK Gas provides its personal information protection policy on the first page of its website (www.skgas.co.kr) so that you will be well informed.
• SK Gas established the procedure needed to revise its personal information protection policy in order to continuously improve it.. We also assign a version number when the personal information protection policy is revised so that you will be informed of revised contents

02. Subjects and method of personal information collection

• SK Gas website collects only the minimum information such as the name and contact number through the legal and fair means as the information is directly needed for the provision of services.
• SK Gas website does not collect the personal information such as the race or nationality, ideology or belief, place of birth, political orientation, criminal record, health condition, sex life, etc. that may seriously violate the human right.
• Personal information collected
- Job application: Name, date of birth, password, home phone no., mobile phone no., e-mail address, etc.
- Customer opinion: Name, E-mail address, and Phone no.
- Report: Name, E-mail address, Phone No., ID, and Password (ID and password are applicable only when the reply is checked over the web.)
- A/S request: Name, Phone No., Mobile phone no., and E-mail address
• Collection of personal information
- The personal information is collected online when a user generates the job application, customer opinion, ethical counseling, report, AS request in SK Gas’ homepage

03. Purpose of collection and use of personal information

• Your signing on the service request through the SK Gas website is considered that you agree to collection of the personal information according to the personal information protection policy and service agreement disclosed in the website (www.skgas.co.kr).

04. Purpose of collection and use of personal information

• SK Gas website collects the personal information for the following purpose:
A. Name: Identification of a service user
B. Phone no. and E-mail address: Securing the communication channel for the provision of announcement, checking of opinion, handling of complaints, etc. and announcement of new service/product or event
• SK Gas website utilizes the information provided by the customers and information related to service usage in order to offer the optimum service and carry out the customer oriented marketing such as the announcement of new products and events or survey.

05. Collection of personal information using cookies

• SK Gas website (www.skgas.co.kr) does not use the cookie to save and search the customer information.

06. Use of personal information for other purpose or disclosure to and sharing with third parties

• SK Gas website utilizes the customer information within scope stated in the ‘Purpose of collection and use of personal information‘ or service agreement. It does not use the information or provide the information to third parties beyond the stated scope. In particular, it will carefully use and provide the personal information in following cases:
A. Partnership
SK Gas website may provide or share the customers’ personal information with a partner for the purpose of delivering the better service. When it provides or shares the personal information with third parties, it will seek the consent of customers in advance by individually informing them in writing or through e-mail of who the partner is, which personal information is provided or shared, why such personal information must be provided or shared, and for how long and how the personal information is protected and managed. If the customer does not agree to it, the personal information is not provided or shared with the partner. If there is a change or termination of the partnership relation, we will also notify it or seek the consent of the customer in the same procedure.
B. Consignment of handling of personal information
SK Gas website may consign the collection, storage, editing, renewal and management of the customers’ personal information to a third party to provide better service and customer convenience. In that case, it will inform the customers about the consignee, period of consignment, relation with consignee and scope of responsibility in advance.
C. M&A
SK Gas website may transfer part or whole of its business or transfer the rights and obligations of service provider for the reason of merger or inheritance. In that case, we will inform the fact to the customers in order to assure the customers’ right in relation to personal information protection.
• SK Gas website does not use the customers’ personal information or provide it to third parties beyond the scope notified to the customers when collecting the personal information or the scope stated in the service agreement except that the customer agrees to it or any of the following cases is applicable.
A. Personal information needed for statistical analysis, academic research or market survey is processed into the form not to be identifiable the individual and then provided to third parties such as the research organizations, survey or research agencies, advertisers or partners/vendors.
B. The case is stipulated in the legislations such as the Act on Real Name Financial Transactions and Confidentiality, Use and Protection of Credit Information Act, Framework Act on Telecommunications, Telecommunications Business Act, Local Tax Act, Consumer Protection Act, Bank of Korea Act, and Criminal Procedure Act. However, even if the personal information is demanded by an administrative agency or investigative agency for the purpose of administration or investigation ‘as the case specified by the law’, the information is not provided unconditionally and provided only through the legal procedure such as the warrant or written request with the official seal of the head of the agency under the provisions of the law.

07. Method of notification, statement, disclosure, public announcement or information

• To obtain customers’ consent for collection of personal information through the SK Gas website, SK Gas will notify it to the customers in written form or through its website (www.skgas.co.kr) or state it in the service agreement.
• The personal information protection policy of SK Gas website is open to the customers in written form or website (www.skgas.co.kr).
• If the personal information protection policy of SK Gas website is significantly changed, the reason and details of the change will be notified to the customer through the website (www.skgas.co.kr) before the changed personal information protection policy is implemented.
• When SK Gas website intends to obtain customers’ consent to use or share the customers’ personal information with third parties beyond the scope notified at the time of personal information collection or stated in the service agreement, we will notify the customers individually through the written form, e-mail or telephone in advance.
• When consigning the collection, handling and management of customers’ personal information to a third party, we will notify the customers individually through the written form, e-mail, telephone or website (www.skgas.co.kr) in advance.
• When SK Gas transfers part or whole of its business or transfers the rights and obligations of service provider for the reason of merger, inheritance, etc., we will notify the customers individually through the written form, e-mail, etc., and disclose it on the first page of SK Gas website (www.skgas.co.kr) for 30 days or longer at the same time. The notification through the written form, e-mail or other means will be substituted by one or more announcements in two or more central daily newspapers (or local daily newspaper if most of customers reside in a specific region) if the customer’s contact point cannot be determined not on SK Gas’ fault or if there is the valid reason such as the natural disaster.
• To obtain the consent of a legal guardian for collecting/using the personal information of a person aged under 14 (hereinafter ‘minor’) or sharing it with third parties, the notification will be sent to the legal guardian through the telephone, fax or post mail, through the means of the minor submitting the notification to his or her legal guardian, through an e-mail to the legal guardian instructing the legal guardian to link to SK Gas website (www.skgas.co.kr), or through other rational means to deliver the notification to the legal guardian.

08. Access, authentication or correction of personal information

• SK Gas website sincerely responds to a customer’s demand for the access, authentication or correction of the customer’s personal information and immediately corrects or deletes it if needed as there is an error in the personal information or the retention period has expired.
• The customer can visit an office that has the consignment service contract with the SK Gas website and demand the access and authentication of his or her personal information. To thoroughly protect the personal information provided by the customers, SK website does not allow the access and authentication of customers’ personal information upon the request through telephone, post mail, fax, etc. other than customer’s visit to the office.
• If a customer demands the correction of personal information by visiting the office, branch or customer center having the consignment service contract with the SK Gas website or using the written form, telephone, e-mail or customer ID, SK Gas will take the necessary measure immediately after confirming the identity.
• If a customer demands the access and authentication of his or her personal information, SK Gas will confirm the identity by requesting and checking the resident registration card, password or driver’s license that identifies the customer.
• If a customer’s representative visits the office and demands the access and authentication, SK Gas will confirm the representation by requesting and checking the power of attorney, authentication seal of the named customer, and identification card of the representative.
• If SK Gas is demanded of correction of error even after the customer agreed to provide his or her personal information to third parties, provision of the personal information will be suspended until the error is corrected. If the incorrect personal information was already delivered to a third party, SK Gas will notify the fact to the third party and named person and take the necessary measures.
• If there is the legitimate reason to refuse the demand for the access/authentication or correction of part of whole of the personal information, SK Gas will notify it to the customer and explain the reason.

09. Withdrawal of consent to personal collection, use or presentation of personal information (Membership withdrawal)

• The customer can visit the office or branch that has the consignment service contract with SK Gas website and withdraw the consent to collection, use or provision of the personal information.
• When the customer visits the office and withdraws the consent to collection, use or provision of the personal information, SK Gas will check the identity and immediately take the necessary measures such as disposing the particular information unless it is contradictory to legal provision.
• A customer’s withdrawal of consent to collection, use or provision of the personal information is considered as the demand for withdrawal of membership since the customer is withdrawing his or her intention to use the service.
• The legal representative of a minor can withdraw the consent to collection, use or provision of the personal information of the minor and demand the access or correction of error of the personal information provided by the minor.

10. Period of personal information possession and utilization (Procedure and method of disposal)

• SK Gas website keeps and uses a customer’s personal information only while it provides the service to the customer. However, it keeps the information according to legislation if needed under the provisions of related laws such as the Framework Act on National Taxes, Corporate Tax Act, and Value-Added Tax Act.
• Following cases will require retention of the personal information under the provisions of the law:
A. All books and documentary evidence of transaction will be preserved for five years after the expiry of the statutory due date according to the Article 85-3 (Keeping and Preservation of Books, etc.) of the Framework Act on National Taxes.
B. The documentary evidence of bad account disposal of some accounts receivable is preserved for five years after the negative prescription (3 years) is completed under the provision of the Article 26-2 (Limitation Period for National Tax Assessment) of the Framework on National Taxes.
C. The important important evidentiary documents related to the account books will be preserved for five years from the expiration of the filing deadline under the provisions of the Article 112 (Keeping Account Books) of the Corporate Tax Act.
D. The evidentiary documents related to all transactions will be preserved for five years from the expiration of the filing deadline under the provisions of the Article 116 (Receipt and Keeping of Evidentiary Documents of Expenditures) of the Corporate Tax Act.
E. The account books, tax invoices and receipts will be preserved for five years from the filing deadline under the provisions of the Article 71 (Keeping and Preservation of Account Books) of the Value-Added Tax Act.
• ※ The information to be preserved and retention period under the provisions of the law are described as follows:
Information such as the name, resident registration no., (canceled) mobile phone no, billed address, and transaction details including the fee and other information under the provisions of the Framework on National Taxed, Corporate Tax Act and Value-Added Tax Act: 5 years.
• The reasons to retain the information according to the internal policy are described as follows:
A. Information related to job application (name, date of birth, home phone no., address, mobile phone no., e-mail address, etc.)
- Reason for retention : To be used as the hiring information later
- Retention period : For one year after application
B. Information related to customer opinion/ethical counseling/report/AS request (name, e-mail address, phone no., ID, password and address)
- Reason for retention : For managing the customer opinion, ethical counseling and report details as well as the customer service in the SK website
- Retention period : Within the period the customer opinion, ethical counseling, report and A/S are managed in the SK Gas webpage
• Customers’ personal information is disposed immediately in principle after the purpose of collecting and using the personal information is achieved.
The procedure and method of disposal are described as follows:
A. Procedure
- The information input by a customer for job application, customer opinion, ethical counseling, report or A/S request is retained for a specific period according to the information protection internal policy or regulation after the purpose is achieved. The personal information is not used for the purpose other than what is stated unless it is necessitated by the law.
B. Method
- The personal information saved in an electronic file format is deleted using the technical method that cannot be recycled.

11. Technical and administrative measures for protection of personal information

• Technical measures
SK Gas applies following technical measures to secure the safety in order to prevent the loss, theft, alteration or damage of personal information of customers using the SK Gas website.
A. Customers’ personal information is managed using the internal network which cannot be accessed or intruded from an outside network. The important data are thoroughly protected using the additional security functions such as encryption of files and transferred data or file lock.
B. SK Gas website uses the vaccine programs to prevent the damage by the computer virus. The vaccine programs are regularly updated, and the latest vaccine is immediately applied in to prevent the breach of personal information when a virus appears suddenly.
C. SK Gas website has adopted the security measure using the encryption algorithm to safely transfer the personal information over the network.
D. SK Gas website operates the intrusion detection system and intrusion blocking system to protect the internal network from intrusion through hacking, etc. and has installed the access control system in each server to strengthen the security.
• Managerial Measures
A. SK Gas website operates its main systems and equipment with objective certification such as the information security management system certification to safely protect the personal information.
B. SK Gas website has established the procedure needed for accessing and managing the customers’ personal information and have the employees be aware of and comply with it.
C. SK Gas website limits the personnel to handle the customers’ personal information to minimum. Following persons can handle the customers’ personal information:
- People who carry out the marketing duties to customers directly or indirectly
- Personal information manager, personal information protection coordinator and other people who are responsible for managing and protecting the personal information
- Other people who have to access the personal information for business
D. If the SK Gas website processes the customers’ personal information using a computer, it designates a person having the access privilege to the personal information and assigns an ID and password. The password is regularly renewed.
E. SK Gas conducts regular internal and consigned training of employees handling the personal information on new security technologies and personal information protection obligation.
F. When a new employee is hired, the person must sign the information protection pledge or personal information protection pledge to prevent in advance the information leakage, and SK Gas has established and enforces the internal procedure to audit implementation of personal information protection policy and compliance by the employees.
G. Employees resigning from SK Gas are obligated to sign the confidentiality pledge so that the person who used to handle the customers’ personal information would not damage, violate or leak the personal information obtained during the duty.
H. Transfer of duty of a personal information handler is established under the thoroughly secured condition, and SK Gas has the rule that clearly specifies the responsibility for the personal information violation incidents after joining or resigning from the company.
I. The computer room and data archive room are designated as the special protected area to strictly control in and out.
J. SK Gas implements the measures needed to identify the customer when collecting the information such as the credit card number and bank account or providing the information to the customer to sign the service agreement or provide the service.

12. Link sites

• The SK Gas website may provide the customers the links to the websites or data of other companies. In that case, the SK Gas website cannot be responsible for or guarantee the usability of the provided services or data since it does not have any control over the external sites and data. The SK Gas website recommends the customers who click the link contained in the SK Gas website to navigate to another site to review the policy of the visiting site since its personal information protection policy is irrelevant to SK Gas website.

13. Consignment of personal information

• SK Gas website may consign the collection, storage, editing, search, renewal and management of the customers’ personal information to a third party to provide better service and customer convenience. In that case, it will inform the customers about the consignee, period of consignment, relation with consignee and scope of responsibility in advance.
• SK Gas website consigns the collection, storage, editing, search, renewal and management service of the customers’ personal information to a branch, agent, customer center, CRM center, etc. which has the consignment service contract with the SK Gas website service agreement contracting and incidental business, maintenance and management of service customers, and fee settlement of service usage until the contract is expired.
• SK Gas website specifies the strict compliance with personal information protection policy, confidentiality of personal information, prohibition of providing the personal information to third parties, liability of accidents, consignment period, and obligation to return or destroy the personal information after it is processed in the consignment service agreement and recommends the compliance.

14. Receipt of opinions and handling of complaints

• SK Gas website values customer opinions the most. When a customer makes an inquiry to Customer Service on the SK Gas website, SK Gas will respond quickly and correctly.

15. Personal information manager and staff

• SK Gas website values protection of customers’ personal information the most and does its best to prevent the damage, violation or leakage of the personal information. If a customer wants to contact the person in charge of personal information protection of the SK Gas website, the customer can first contact Customer Service. SK Gas website will make sure that the customer can contact the person in charge of personal information protection at the relevant department as the highest priority.
• A customer who wants to contact the person in overall charge of personal information management of SK Gas website may contact the following number. SK Gas will reply promptly and sincerely to customer inquiries related to personal information.

16. Protection of personal information of the minor

• SK Gas website has established the protective measures so that a minor and his or her legal guardian are not disadvantaged by the personal information provided by the minor.
• SK Gas website obtains the consent of the legal guardian of the minor in the case of following actions on the personal information of a minor.
A. Case of the SK Gas website collecting the personal information needed for the minor to subscribe the service or using the personal information of the minor or providing it to a third party beyond the scope notified at the time of service subscription or stated in the service agreement
B. Case of a party which received the personal information of a minor from the SK Gas website using the personal information for other purpose or sharing with another party
• SK Gas website can demand the minimal necessary information including the name and contact point of the legal guardian to obtain the consent of the legal guardian. In that case, SK Gas will clearly explain the purpose of collecting, using and providing the personal information and why the consent of the legal guardian is needed.
• The personal information of a legal guardian collected to obtain the consent of the legal guardian is not used for purpose other than to confirm the consent of the legal guardian or shared with third parties.

17. Provision of commercial information

• SK Gas website does not send the advertising information for commercial purpose that against the customer’s explicit expression of intention to refuse such information.
• If a customer agrees to receive e-mails such as the newsletter, SK Gas website takes measures to include statements described below in the title and main text of the e-mail so that the customer can easily recognize its nature.
A. Title of e-mail: The title may not contain the statement ‘(Advertising)’ and describes the main content of the main text.
B. Main text of e-mail: The main text will contain an e-mail address to which the customer can express intention to refuse the e-mail.
• When SK Gas website sends an advertising e-mail for customer oriented marketing material such as the introduction of new products or events to a customer, it will include the following statements in the title and main text of the e-mail so that the customer can easily recognize the nature of the e-mail.
A. Title of e-mail: The title will contain the statement ‘(Advertising)’ or ‘(Advertising for adults)’ at the beginning without the space, and the main content will be presented in the main text of the e-mail.
B. Main text of e-mail: The main text will contain an e-mail address to which the customer can express intention to refuse the e-mail.
• When SK Gas website sends the advertising information for commercial purpose through the fax, SMS, etc. other than the e-mail also to a customer who agreed to receive the advertising information, it takes the necessary measures such as stating the name of the sender.

18. Obligation for disclosure

• SK Gas website will disclose the addition, deletion or revision of the content of its personal information protection policy to conform to the change of government policy or security technology in a written form or through its homepage (www.skgas.co.kr).
