Small bulk sale refers to the provision of LPG from a small tank through metal pipes to businesses or individual households, for which consumers pay for as much as they consume, as measured by individual gas meters. This advanced LPG supply system has dramatically enhanced safety and shortened the distribution process compared to the container-based LPG supply system. Small bulk demand has been on the rise recently, as LPG can help combat environmental problems and rising oil prices. As the demand for LNG increases, the volume of high calorie LNG imports is declining while low calorie LNG imports are rising, raising the issue of the low calorific value of LNG. In this light, SK gas providing LPG supplement the low calorific value of LNG. Currently, SK gas is supplying LPG to POSCO and the Korea Gas Corporation for this purpose.
Auto gas offers the full benefits of LPG, as a clean, convenient and economical source of energy. As such, the transportation market for LPG holds great potential as a new growth engine. Recently developed Liquid Phase LPG injection (LPLi) technology has eliminated much of the technical drawbacks of the existing LPG-powered automobiles. Vehicles mounted with this high technology have been commercialized and introduced to the public. SK gas will continue its efforts to develop superior and environmentally-friendly vehicles and diversify energy sources for transportation vehicles. SK gas has also succeeded in developing superior technologies that fits the criteria for Super Ultra-Low Emission Vehicles (SULEV).
SK gas has attained its position as market leader-supplying more than 50% of Korea’s total LPG import demand based on the wealth of LPG marketing experience accrued over the past 20 years, built upon high brand value and dedication of sales professionals. In addition, SK gas has built up an extensive database of know-how, created a systematic marketing manual from the database, and made the best use of the manual in the field.
