My tip is that I focused on SK Gas and did my best to enter the company.
How would you define your work (job)?
Now I belong to the Sales Strategy Team and I establish good communication channels within the division as a staff member of the Gas Business Division of SK Gas. I support the managerial activities of each organization and at the same time endeavor to learn about future growth engines for our company.
Tell us what you did during your school days or employment preparation period and how this is related to your current work?
Through the summer internship at the SK Group, I had the opportunity to experience SK Gas. There, I became aware of its strong points and the company culture of SK Gas which I hadn’t known about before and I became keen to enter the company. As I majored in chemical engineering, I was able to easily understand the products of the company and learn about the various chemical processes related to LPG.
Do you have any tips for those seeking employment?
I think it important to have passion for the company you are applying for and have confidence in yourself. Usually people compare numerous companies when they are preparing for employment and then decide to apply to certain companies. For my part, I focused on SK Gas and did my best to enter the company.
Can you talk about any interesting episodes in the workplace?
I remember the day when I participated in a talent show held during an athletic meeting organized by the company. I sang and danced with a friend. We didn’t expect a very favorable response as we had not prepared much for our performance, but many senior colleagues cheered and laughed enthusiastically. So I have a happy memory of it even now.
When do you feel that your work is valuable and worthwhile?
All of my work at the company is interesting and worthwhile, but I always have a very good feeling when I come to the office early in the morning and turn on the lights. I feel happy when I say hello to my senior colleagues who come to the office after me.
What advice would you give to those who want to become part of the SK family?
I would like to tell them that they should think deeply about and grasp properly the notion of ‘My Own Passion’. While the notion of ‘passion’ is popular among young people, there are not many who can show passion in a way that is appropriate. SK will give you the opportunity if you think of and possess passion all the time.
