Please tell us about your job.
I used to handle issues related to the budgeting and investment management of the company in the Planning Team. Now I am working in the Project Team and doing my best to contribute to the achievement of SWAN 2.0 so that SK Gas can make further advances. The company’s budget can be divided into the operating budget which is to be used by each team within the company and the investment budget which is the amount of investment made by the company. Budgeting involves reviewing and monitoring to determine if the allocated budgets are being spent well or if there is any excess or deficiency in the budgets. Investment management entails Leading, Helping and Checking to ensure that the corporations and businesses in which our company has already invested in are being properly operated.
Can you tell about an interesting episode in the workplace?
At the end of last year, I prepared a talent show program for the end of year party with my fellow new recruits. Though we were not quite sure if we could prepare the event well during our busy work schedule, we asked other team members to excuse us and all of us actively participated in the preparation work. As a result, we were able to develop our friendships and put on a great show.
What made you choose SK Gas?
I think SK Gas is a competitive company in three aspects. The first one is its stable domestic business capability that has been maintained over the past three decades. The second is the existence of new growth engines based on the Shale Gas Revolution. Finally, SK Gas will be able to continue to grow and this will enable me to develop my skills also. Though not much time has passed since I entered the company, I think my judgment was right as my colleagues share the vision of the company. I am satisfied with where I am today.
What are the strong points of SK Gas that you can sense feel while working for the company?
I could say the aforementioned three aspects are the strong points of SK Gas. In addition, SK Gas has a family like atmosphere. For example, the president never passes by us without saying hello to us. One more thing is; it is possible for everyone to have more opportunities if he or she makes effort. In a word, the best thing about SK Gas is the environment that fosters ‘professionals with warm hearts’, which is our motto.
Do you have any useful tips for those who want to join SK Gas?
The most important thing is self-confidence. To be able to have self-confidence, you need to have knowledge of the company you are applying to join and be well aware of your strong points. Learn as much as you can about the company and enthusiastically explain to the interviewers how you can contribute to the company with your experience or talents. Finally, maintain a humble attitude.
What is your future vision?
Our company has a goal to reach 100 trillion won in sales by 2030 and we are making every effort to achieve this ambitious goal. I think my current situation is just like our company. I will keep learning new things and develop my abilities. My vision and goal is to be a pillar of the company in 2030.
