Tank Terminal, the new growth momentum of SK Gas
SK Gas launched its own tank terminal business by establishing a new company called G.Hub.
The new business has been established as a part of the company's mid and long term strategy to diversify its business domain and to expand its business geography, product portfolio and value chain. SK Gas is planning to increase the proficiency and productivity of G.Hub, while constantly seeking new opportunities, to make the Ulsan-based tank terminal service company more competitive.
Through the foundation of a tank terminal business unit, SK Gas has secured a new growth momentum which is expected to create a long-term, stable revenue stream.
G.Hub is a tank terminal service company based in Ulsan, Korea, founded by SK Gas. It has a total of 490,000 kiloliters of storage capacity, which is capable of holding up to 3,100,000 barrels of raw material (UCO) and lubricating oil products (LBO, HBO). The company, an affiliate wholly owned by SK Gas, has been in active commercial operation since its foundation in 2012.
The location of G.Hub is important from a business strategy viewpoint, as it is established nearby SK Energy, SK Lubricants factories and industrial ports in the Ulsan-Mipo National Industrial Complex, which is an ideal location for a liquid cargo business.
